Position Announcement
Coordinator (Part-Time)
Under the supervision of the Co-Chairpersons of the Asset Independence Coalition, the Coordinator will support the ongoing activities of the AIC.  The Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the AIC work to achieve the following:
·       Tri-County residents will utilize the invaluable resources and services made available by the AIC.
 
·       Tri-County residents will have a greater working knowledge of how to create financial assets.
 
·       All qualified Tri-County resident will take advantage of the Earned Income Tax Credit.
 
·       Tri-County residents will have improved delivery as it pertains to VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) sites.
 
 
 
The overall objectives of the AIC Coordinator position are as follows:
· Provide leadership for the AIC in working toward achievement of its mission
·       Increase the number of electronic VITA sites.
 
·       Lead VITA sites in utilizing standardized reporting tools and in expanding use of volunteers.
 ·       Initiate long-term communication and relationships with VITA site coordinators and volunteers.
 ·       The AIC Best Practices Manual will be standardized and updated when necessary.
Additional Duties, Task and Activities:
·       In cooperation with the AIC Co-Chairpersons, set agendas, coordinate AIC meetings, take minutes, and disseminate information to member organizations.
 ·       Gather reporting information from VITA sites on a weekly basis and compile data and distribute as appropriate.
 ·       Coordinate AIC Committee meetings and support leadership of committees when necessary.
 ·       Organize and solicit internal AIC communications.
 ·       Serve as the AIC representative to the community and assume responsibility for all written and oral communication regarding the AIC.
 ·       Serve as the AIC representative to local, state & national coalitions that are working on EITC and other asset building activities.
 ·       Research and write grant applications soliciting funding for the VITA sites.
·       Organize future AIC strategic planning session.
 ·       Develop and coordinate a year round mechanism to engage VITA site volunteers.
 
Minimum Qualifications Include:
 
·       College degree preferred with two years of related job experience;
 ·       Demonstrated experience with community engagement, including specific qualifications outlined above;
 ·       Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and low income neighborhoods;
 ·       Strong computer skills including familiarity with. Microsoft Office Programs – (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher) and proficiency navigating the world wide web;
 ·       Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
 
This is a part-time 20 hours per week, 12 month, grant-funded position.  The salary is $15.00 per hour and does not include any benefits.
